Giuliani Quote in 1994: "Freedom is About Authority"

"What we don't see is that freedom is not a concept in which people can do anything they want, be anything they can be. Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do." - Rudy Giuliani 1994
'Freedom Is About Authority': Excerpts From Giuliani Speech on Crime - New York Times

This guy doesn't even understand the concept of freedom. The term freedom, when used by a politician, refers to the degree of government intervention. He contradicts the very nature of the term in his twisted attempt at consolidating more power for himself.

Rudy's obligingly provided a wealth of examples of doublespeak called "paramoralisms", a word coined by Dr. Lobaczewski, author of Political Ponerology.

Parmoralisms are statements or slogans that appear to make sense but bypass the listeners critical faculties. Thanks for the quote. It's a doozy!
