Musharraf set to declare state of emergency

The political crisis in Pakistan deepened last night as President Musharraf was poised to impose a state of emergency, a move that would grant him sweeping powers.

Do you feel us getting safer? Leaders of Muslim nations have a choice, cuddle up to the U.S. via the Bush Administration and get overthrown, or move policies and rhetoric away from those of the U.S. This is where Bush's bullying foreign policy has left us. They are pushing allies and potential allies away. Pakistan is a nuclear power. Pushing ideals in that country away from those of freedom and democracy at this time is not making us safer.
