Ron Paul to Place 2nd in Iowa Straw Poll: Townhall.com Prediction

"He leads the second tier in cash-on-hand. He was able to get 1,200 people out to the Hy-Vee (has any candidate done something that big on their own, not at an RPI event?). His home base in Texas isn’t that far of a drive, and his people are motivated enough to come in from out of state for him. And he’s making a big push on his Web site, which for all intents and purposes, is his campaign."

All Dr. Paul needs is for people to hear him speak, to watch his YouTube.com videos. His character and his message sell themselves. What will a second do for his name recognition?

With all due respect TTH, your Republican credentials are suspect.

Who did you vote for in 88, 92, 96, 00, and 04? I imagine that your answers are not Bush, Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush.

I welcome you to our Republican party, and look forward to seeing you at the caucus meeting in February; if Ron doesn't win the nomination, I look forward to your support of our ultimate nominee, Mitt Romney.

Tee hee hee. In the same article that you linked to, here is a telling quote:

"I see that Ron Paul is up to 3% in the Gallup poll, above Huckabee and Brownback. He won’t come close to winning, but can he aggregate whatever Bilderburger and Trilateral Commission-phobic votes there are in his corner, in the same way that Lyndon LaRouche could get 15% in a Democratic primary against Bill Clinton?"

So, TTH, you link an article that compares your saviour to Lyndon LaRouche and conspiracy crazies afraid of Bilderberger and the Trilateral Commission.

Hah!!

"Republican credentials"? Hah. I don't have any, and am glad to say it.

"if Ron doesn't win the nomination, I look forward to your support of our ultimate nominee, Mitt Romney."

You're not going to get it.

I registered Republican (normally, I'm a Democrat) JUST to vote for Ron Paul. If Romney or anyone else gets the nomination, I'm going to work to make sure they LOSE.

I personally know five other Democrats that have done the exact same thing. Richardson would have been my choice, but he supports amnesty. I'm throwing in with Dr. No.

I don't get it. You joined the Republican party to make sure that the Republican party nominee loses?

That doesn't make any sense.

Oh and one other point,

Why would a Democrat joint the Republican party to support Ron Paul, a man who Paul supports free trade, tighter border security, gun ownership, and a return to free market health care. He opposes the income tax, Medicare and Medicaid, universal health care, as well as federal sanctioning of same-sex marriage. He voted against same-sex adoption in Washington D.C. He is personally pro-life and opposed to abortion, which he thinks should not be regulated by the federal government, and accordingly that Roe v. Wade should be overturned. He also believes that the federal government should have no influence on education.

Your support for him could simply be chalked up to as Bush Derangement Syndrome.
