Supreme Court Repudiates Bush for Third Time

Court says detainees have rights, bucking Bush: "In a stinging rebuke to President Bush's anti-terror policies, a deeply divided Supreme Court ruled Thursday that foreign detainees held for years at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba have the right to appeal to U.S. civilian courts to challenge their indefinite imprisonment without charges."

You must really be torn on this one TTH. On one hand, it is a loss to Bush, but on the other hand it is a loss to the constitution. Tell you what, Bush will be gone in 7 months, but the damage done by this ruling will linger on much longer.

How is upholding habeus corpus a "loss" to the Constitution? The Constitution protects "people," not just U.S. citizens.
