Bush borrowed more than all previous 42 Presidents. Combined. Rome, here we come:
According to the Treasury Department, from 1776-2000,
the first 224 years of U.S. history, 42 U.S. presidents borrowed a
combined $1.01 trillion from foreign governments and financial
institutions, but in the past four years alone, the Bush administration
borrowed $1.05 trillion.
By the way, that was in 2005.

How about some perspective? Please consider the relative growth in GDP.
Let's see the borrowing as a % of total wealth.
Do you think that in the last four years the economy has grown that much? OK, so the economy grew an average of 3% over the last 4 years. Put that in your financial calculator and discount it. Big deal. This stat is through 2005. It doesn't even include the last couple years. It just reiterates that Republicans are not fiscal conservatives, so why do you support them?
